Year 3 Trip to St Albans Cathedral

This term, as part of our history topic 'The Romans', Year 3 got the wonderful opportunity to go on a field trip to St Albans Cathedral. The day was filled with enriching activities which provided a fantastic opportunity for the children to step back in time and immerse themselves in historic story of Alban in a truly inspiring setting.
Our day began with an engaging session on the Romans in St Albans, where the children explored the history of Roman mosaic art. They had a blast designing and creating their very own Roman-inspired mosaic tiles — a hands-on activity that allowed their creativity to shine while reinforcing what we've been learning in class.
The day wrapped up by learning about the life and legacy of Saint Alban through engaging role play activities. The children were captivated by the beautiful surroundings of the cathedral, which brought the story to life.
It was a truly tremendous day that connected our classroom learning with real-world history in a memorable and meaningful way.
