Reception Trip to Willows Farm
This week, Reception had the perfect end of term treat, with a fantastic trip to Willows Farm. Our guide, Kara, met us from the coach and accompanied us for the entire day, helping us cram in as much fun and educational activities as possible! First, we were taken to hold some newborn guinea pigs, then we learnt all about how a cow is milked and met Lavender-Honey the cow and watched the milking process happen. We were then taken to watch a Peter Rabbit show, enjoyed a sheep race and then rushed to the tractor ride to spot more farm animals and sing songs! After that excitement, we went to see the speckled pigs and then went to have a break and eat lunch. We didn’t rest for long, as then we were back on our adventure.
The first stop was to go and feed the goats and sheep, making sure to wash our hands after being thoroughly licked! Next, we went to learn how to milk a cow by hand, which all the children were able to try. We were swiftly running out of time but still managed to fit in play in Peter Rabbit’s playground AND went on the bouncy pillows and the bouncy slide (which even Miss Parker thought was pretty scary!) We had the most wonderful day and all the children were commended on their good behaviour and knowledge, by Kara. Massive thanks to Annie’s Mum, Sophia’s Mum and Kamea’s Mum for being the most amazing volunteers and supporting us throughout the day.
