Years Two and Five took part in an important fire safety talk led by a member of the London Fire Brigade team. The children learned practical ways to help prevent fires at home and what to do safely in the event of a fire. They were shown real photographs of fire damage to homes, including examples caused by cooking fires, and were challenged to think carefully about how each fire may have started, such as through electrical faults, unattended candles or smoking materials.
The children were also shown fire alarms and reminded of the importance of checking them regularly, with the clear message that smoke alarms should be tested every six months to help keep families safe.
