Curriculum

Holland House School offers a comprehensive timetable of lessons that includes: English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, French, computer Studies, Drama Music, Art, Dance, PE and Games.

All academic subjects are taught in whole classes with the pupils facing the teacher.  Children are accustomed to tests at regular intervals to ascertain that they have learned what they have been taught.  Parents are welcome to discuss their child’s progress with teachers or the Head.

In the first two years at Holland House School, particular emphasis is placed on reading, writing, number work and clear self-expression.  Children are taught to acknowledge classroom discipline without sacrificing their own lively individuality.

Holland House has met all the necessary conditions to take up an exemption from the learning and development requirements of the 2012 Early Years Foundation Stage for children in its Reception and Year One classes.

The School enjoys the highest academic standards.  Early reading attainment is among the highest in the United Kingdom.  Learning takes place in a family environment where every child is known individually by the Staff and the Head.

A combination of traditional teaching techniques coupled with new technology helps to give the best foundation for a pupil’s education.
