ABOUT THE SCHOOL
|
In the last twenty years the way children are taught has changed considerably. During this period of change, I have sought to bring together the new and the old so that what worked best in the past is not compromised by either innovation or the fashion of the moment. At the same time, when new ideas represent an improvement, they are adopted whole-heartedly.
All members of staff at Holland House School are encouraged to embrace whole class teaching while at the same time remaining sensitive to each child's intellectual and pastoral needs.
I am an advocate of a rational approach to education and of courteous dissidence, even in the young child.
It should be the aspiration of every parent and every teacher to offer children the opportunity to grow up in a civilised verbal environment.
